Hi! Wishlist Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Pen to Paper. You find a book on your wishlist that you are dying to get on your shelves and you share that book in a post. This week my book is:

The Pledge by Kimberly Derting

Book Blurb from Goodreads:

In the violent country of Ludania, the classes are strictly divided by the language they speak. The smallest transgression, like looking a member of a higher class in the eye while they are speaking their native tongue, results in immediate execution. Seventeen-year-old Charlaina has always been able to understand the languages of all classes, and she’s spent her life trying to hide her secret. The only place she can really be free is the drug-fueled underground clubs where people go to shake off the oppressive rules of the world they live in. It’s there that she meets a beautiful and mysterious boy named Max who speaks a language she’s never heard before . . . and her secret is almost exposed.

Charlie is intensely attracted to Max, even though she can’t be sure where his real loyalties lie. As the emergency drills give way to real crisis and the violence escalates, it becomes clear that Charlie is the key to something much bigger: her country’s only chance for freedom from the terrible power of a deadly regime.

I am intrigued by the idea that classes are divided by different languages. I think it also sounds interesting that the MC, Charlaina, can speak all the languages. This book is promising to be unique and I can’t wait to get my hands on it!

Let the Sky Fall by Shannon Messenger

Book blurb from Goodreads:

Seventeen-year-old Vane Weston has no idea how he survived the category five tornado that killed his parents. And he has no idea if the beautiful, dark-haired girl who’s swept through his dreams every night since the storm is real. But he hopes she is.

Seventeen-year-old Audra is a sylph, an air elemental. She walks on the wind, can translate its alluring songs, and can even coax it into a weapon with a simple string of commands. She’s also a guardian—Vane’s guardian—and has sworn an oath to protect Vane at all costs. Even if it means sacrificing her own life.

When a hasty mistake reveals their location to the enemy who murdered both of their families, Audra’s forced to help Vane remember who he is. He has a power to claim—the secret language of the West Wind, which only he can understand. But unlocking his heritage will also unlock the memory Audra needs him to forget. And their greatest danger is not the warriors coming to destroy them—but the forbidden romance that’s grown between them.

This book looks so good! I’ve always loved books in which the characters have elemental powers so when I heard about this one I had to add it to my wishlist. I think this will be a great read, especially with tornado season coming up soon. I can’t wait to get this one!

Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi

I’m not going to insert the book blurb in case you haven’t read Shatter me yet. This is the second book in the Shatter Me trilogy(?). The first is Shatter Me and you can see my review for that here. I loved Shatter Me so I cannot wait to get this one and read it!

Unremembered by Jessica Brody

Book Blurb from Goodreads:

When Freedom Airlines flight 121 went down over the Pacific Ocean, no one ever expected to find survivors. Which is why the sixteen-year-old girl discovered floating among the wreckage—alive—is making headlines across the globe.

Even more strange is that her body is miraculously unharmed and she has no memories of boarding the plane. She has no memories of her life before the crash. She has no memories period. No one knows how she survived. No one knows why she wasn’t on the passenger manifest. And no one can explain why her DNA and fingerprints can’t be found in a single database in the world.

Crippled by a world she doesn’t know, plagued by abilities she doesn’t understand, and haunted by a looming threat she can’t remember, Seraphina struggles to piece together her forgotten past and discover who she really is. But with every clue only comes more questions. And she’s running out of time to answer them.

Her only hope is a strangely alluring boy who claims to know her from before the crash. Who claims they were in love. But can she really trust him? And will he be able to protect her from the people who have been making her forget?

I have had my eye on this book since it came out a couple weeks ago and it looks so good! I love the cover and the mystery that surrounds it – her face is blurry, it seems, in order to emphasize the mystery of the book. I cannot wait to get this book and dive into it’s pages!

Seraphina by Rachel Hartman

Book blurb from Goodreads:

Four decades of peace have done little to ease the mistrust between humans and dragons in the kingdom of Goredd. Folding themselves into human shape, dragons attend court as ambassadors, and lend their rational, mathematical minds to universities as scholars and teachers. As the treaty’s anniversary draws near, however, tensions are high.

Seraphina Dombegh has reason to fear both sides. An unusually gifted musician, she joins the court just as a member of the royal family is murdered—in suspiciously draconian fashion. Seraphina is drawn into the investigation, partnering with the captain of the Queen’s Guard, the dangerously perceptive Prince Lucian Kiggs. While they begin to uncover hints of a sinister plot to destroy the peace, Seraphina struggles to protect her own secret, the secret behind her musical gift, one so terrible that its discovery could mean her very life.

This book has been on my wishlist for awhile. When I first saw it, the title and the cover drew me in. I love the name Seraphina and I love dragons as well. When I read the blurb I knew that I would have to read this book. I love the new world created in this book with dragons. It sounds unlike anything I’ve read before, I can’t wait to get a copy.

The book I’m wishing to have right now is…

Mila 2.0 by Debra Driza

Book Blurb from Goodreads:

Mila was never meant to learn the truth about her identity. She was a girl living with her mother in a small Minnesota town. She was supposed to forget her past—that she was built in a secret computer science lab and programmed to do things real people would never do.

Now she has no choice but to run—from the dangerous operatives who want her terminated because she knows too much and from a mysterious group that wants to capture her alive and unlock her advanced technology. However, what Mila’s becoming is beyond anyone’s imagination, including her own, and it just might save her life.

What first drew me to this book was that it is set in a small town Minnesota. I’m from Minnesota and grew up in a small Minnesota town so that highly intrigues me. I have not read a sci-fi book in a long time and I have been wanting to pick one up for awhile and this one seems perfect. The book has also been said to be sort of like the Bourne Identity, in which I really enjoyed. I can’t wait to get my hands on this book and my nose in its pages.

What are you guys currently wishing for off your wishlist?
